Fees & Insurance

Common Questions

  • I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation for all new clients to ensure we are a great fit before moving forward.

    • Intake Assessment (90 minutes): $215

    • Individual Session (50 minutes): $185

    • In-Network Insurance: I accept several major insurance plans in partnership with Headway. Your exact co-pay will be fully verified before our first session.

Sliding Scale Options: I strongly believe that financial barriers shouldn't stand in the way of high-quality, neurodivergent-affirming care. To help bridge the gap, I dedicate a set number of sliding scale spots in my practice for clients experiencing financial hardship or those paying out-of-pocket without insurance.

These spots are offered based on current availability and financial need. If you need a reduced rate, please let me know during our initial consultation call, and we can discuss my current openings.

  • I now accept insurance through Headway! Currently accepted plans include:

    • Aetna

    • BlueCross and BlueShield

    • Carelon Behavioral Health

    • Moda Health

    • Optum

    • Oxford

    • Quest Behavioral Health

I also partner with Thrizer for out-of-network benefits, so if your plan isn't listed, many clients only pay their co-insurance rate at the time of session while Thrizer handles the claims and paperwork. I can also provide a monthly superbill for direct reimbursement if you prefer.

  • I offer a hybrid approach designed to fit your life and comfort levels. Sessions are conducted either online via a secure video platform (accessible from anywhere in Oregon) or in-person through walk-and-talk sessions at a park in Southeast Portland.

Because my practice is primarily virtual, clients often ask if online therapy is as effective as meeting in an office. Absolutely. Research shows it is just as impactful, with a few unique benefits:

    • Comfort & Safety: Meeting from your own space allows you to do deep therapeutic work where you already feel safe and grounded.

    • Sensory Control: For my neurodivergent and ADHD clients, being in your own sensory-controlled environment can make sessions feel significantly more supportive and less draining.

    • Convenience: It completely removes the stress and time of a physical commute.

Whether we connect on screen or outdoors in nature, my goal is to provide a warm, neurodivergent-affirming space to help you manage overwhelm, process relational stress, and build a more secure relationship with yourself.

  • It is simple and secure. Once we decide to move forward after our consultation, we will get your intake documents completed. If we are utilizing your insurance, you will receive an invitation email directly from Headway to set up your account in their secure client portal and complete your paperwork. For private pay clients, you will receive a similar email invitation to my secure portal to complete your initial digital forms.

Before each session, you will receive a link via email that takes you directly to our secure video platform. I recommend logging in about 10–15 minutes early. This gives you time to make sure your camera and microphone are working, but more importantly, it gives you a moment to settle into your space and take a breath before we begin.

  • I offer Walk-and-Talk therapy sessions side-by-side in local Southeast Portland parks, including Mt. Tabor and Laurelhurst.

Forward movement naturally lowers stress hormones, releases nervous energy, and removes the pressure of intense face-to-face eye contact. It can be an easier, more grounded way to get out of your head and into your body. We set whatever pace feels comfortable for you—this is therapy, not a workout, and we can always find a park bench if your body needs to rest.

    How do we handle logistics?

    • Confidentiality: We will establish a clear plan before our first outdoor session on how we will handle passing others on the trail or running into someone you know.

    • Pacific Northwest Weather: If it rains or the weather becomes unmanageable, we have total flexibility. We can seamlessly pivot our session to our secure telehealth video platform or find shelter in the park, depending on your comfort level.

    • The First Session: We always conduct our initial intake assessment virtually or over the phone first to ensure outdoor therapy is a safe, clinical fit for your goals.

  • Many insurance plans (PPO, POS, and some HDHPs) offer out-of-network benefits that reimburse a significant portion of therapy costs. Typically, you would pay the full fee upfront, submit a "superbill" to your insurer, and wait weeks for a check.

To make this easier, I use Thrizer. They act as a bridge: they verify your specific plan's "out-of-network" coverage, file the claims for you, and allow you to pay only your co-insurance amount at the time of our session. This keeps your out-of-pocket costs lower and eliminates the paperwork headache.

Check your coverage in seconds: You can use my Instant Benefits Calculator to see exactly what your insurance will cover before we even meet.
